August Update

Hiiiii, everyone!!

It’s been a while and I’m sorry about that as always, but the weather killed me a lot during these past few weeks. We’ve had an almost three weeks long heat wave here and a shorter one right afterwards, and that nonsense really does a number on my motivation, creativity and general will to exist. I’ve been mostly tinkering on behind-the-scenes stuff whenever I felt able to do so without dying… and when I finally had a properly working PC. If you’ve been following my personal Twitter, you might have noticed how dragged-out the whole affair of getting a new PC was, and how much longer it took than it actually should have ;;;

Speaking of Twitter! I posted a few pieces of artwork there I haven’t put on the homepage yet, so let’s have a look!

These are the two Tanabata artworks I did, both of which have a very different mood. Why does Misha’s artwork look bright and happy and Senri’s artwork gloomy and hopeless? Of course there’s a reason for that, but it’s a spoiler so you’ll have to wait for the game to come out in [insert ridiculously big number] years… (・・。)ゞ

This artwork was used as PrismangaHQ’s new avatar for Twitter, itch.io, etc! You can’t see most of it when it’s in avatar form, but I had a lot of fun making it pretty and shiny! Other than that, I’ve also been tinkering around with RPG Maker MV and some shenanigans ensued…

…like when I discovered that my TTI:L maps have some pretty “big” problems. (And look at that, the stupid stove doesn’t even have a way to switch it on…)

And here we have a resolution and grid size test, complete with silly doodle because the height difference between my own charsets and those provided by MV was funny to me. I’ll make a separate posting about this matter soon, complete with more screenshots and a little comparison of charset and map sizes!

Now, you might be wondering about the Summer Special Artworks, since summer is (luckily) almost over. Well, they were never extremely summer-y to begin with, so I think they won’t look too out of place in autumn either. We’ll just continue with them until all the 14 artworks I promised are done! They won’t be my priority anymore though, because there’s a lot of other stuff I need to do in the next few months. (Like… finally finishing Hyoukyo Traitor in time for Halloween would be REALLY nice………….. “orz)

Last but definitely not least: My friends drew wonderful artworks for my birthday again you absolutely need to see!!

Right at midnight, Khana surprised me with this cute art of my two precious boys Shinya and Senri~! I think she captured them very well and I still want to hug Senri… just look how cheerful and adorable he is~! <3

And then, my partner-in-crime Gospel sent me a cute Kei and I just hope Aya doesn’t see this, because she’d totally steal the artwork and run away with it ;;; And yep, there’s yet another Senri that was drawn on the letter he sent me! Awwww~! <3

Soooooo! Please take a moment to check out my awesome friends’ projects!!
Khana’s commissions are open in case you want a pretty artwork too~!
Gospel is still diligently working on GENBA (and we just had our 2nd SHINRAI anniversary)!!
And while you’re at it, you might also want to take a look at the blog (and little relaxing VN Spring Stroll) of MoeWriting, the fun platformer Goldbar Games is currently developing, as well as Pitch Black Serenade, a Mystery Visual Novel with an intriguing choice system that’s in the works right now too~!

Alright then, that concludes this very picture-heavy (and also kind of Senri-centric) posting. I’m not sure when I’ll write the next one… but I guess you’ll see when it shows up…? (Yeah, kinda scrapping the “always on Friday” thing since that was primarily for my failed Summer Special Artwork attempt. Oh well.)
Thank you for reading, everyone! Take care~!! <3
